International Conference “Democracy in the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities” to start November 30th 30 November to 3 December 2021, Metamorphosis Foundation is organizing the 17th edition of the annual conference This year’s topic is “Democracy in the digital age: challenges and opportunities”.

The international conference will bring together experts, activists, journalists, civil servants and supporters from the Western Balkans and beyond to share their views and thoughts on “Democracy in the digital age: challenges and opportunities.” The conference will discuss the state of democracy today, as well as how technology shapes the definition of good governance and civic engagement in modern conditions. The challenges of the digital age with a special focus on disinformation and Internet security will also be discussed.

With the aim to promote the value of open data in the digital age, a Hackathon for Open Data will be held as part of the Conference. The main goal of the Hackathon is to bring open data closer to all citizens and present it simply and innovatively.

The conference is organized in a hybrid format where the first and the last day of the conference (30 November and 3 December) some participants will have the opportunity to attend the event with a physical presence in Hotel Panoramika in Skopje, North Macedonia, and other participants will be able to follow the sessions online via the ZOOM platform. During the remaining days of the conference, the sessions will be available only on the ZOOM platform.
